We're Moving To Beaumont, TX
I meant to tell you about the move before. But, I got busy with University of Basra protests.
The Beaumont Enterprise newspaper offered Mark a job with their photo department. He had the interview on our 4th wedding anniversary. Isn't that a great coincidence?
The city reminded me so much of Basra. The people are very friendly, warm and talkative. The city has one of the largest oil refineries in the country. Does that sound like Basra or not?
Beaumont is very small compared to the Big D. I love their rush hour traffic. It's like driving in Dallas on a Sunday morning.
The city is only 30 minutes from Louisiana border, two hours from Galveston, 30 minutes from Port Arthur and about an hour from Houston.
We're going back next week to look for a residence. Hopefully, we can move in less than two weeks as Mark is starting his job in three weeks. Wish us good luck.
And, don't forget to read Ahmed's latest post, "Terrorists Are Losing."
Also, we have an Iraqi blogger who's been posting from California for almost a year now. He's so cool. Check his blog.
